Playing Preston tomorrow for the first time and having read their own write up on each hole and then looked at the map am slightly concerned by the tree-lined fairways given my err, fade...come slice :D.

Normally I manage this pretty well and do hit a lot of fairways but I fear tomorrow may be my maker as there seems to be no forgiveness at all. Already thinking 17* hybrid off the tee. Even went to the range today to hit the 3W and 17* in preparation!

They seem to make it out as a reasonably tough course. Anybody played there, any tips?

Played there last weekend. Smashing track. The greens are ace. There is a few holes that will suit a fade. The second hole. The short par 3. You should enjoy it. Nice course friendly place enjoy.

It's a fantastic course that won't punish you too much, unless by fade, you mean slice.....:D

You'll really enjoy it, especially after the turn when it gets very picturesque with some lovely holes, especially the 17th..

Played it and really enjoyed it.

Favourite hole was the 17th, most disappointing hole was the 18th. I think it was the 2nd and the 9th that are elevated tee's with drives down into deep fairways and then back up to raised greens, some really great views.

Would travel to play it again, no problem.

great course. the fairways are quite wide. suits me. played it twice this summer. love it. the greens were so so fast last month.

I enjoyed walking it with yer mate...... Glad I'd quit smoking when I'd finished climbing up to the 18th tee....

Had the choice of Penwortham or Preston and was advised by someone at Penwortham (won't say who) that the greens, although of high quality, weren't as good as Preston's currently.

Perhaps I should have gone to the putting greens today too...
