Anyone played it - they have an open for £30 a pair on B/H Monday. Wondering if its worth the drive on a bank holiday. It says it is a championship course and has held some reasonably prestigious events. Recommended or not?

Played it about 4 yrs ago and what i can remember its a nice course and well worth £30 pair,back 9 narrow n tight and tough in the wind but worth the trip unless its gone down hill since i last played sure someone can give more upto date review on the course.

Yes play it.
In my opinion it is a cracking links type course.
By chance I sat with their Captain and Vice at Rhudland on a society day two weeks and was told
there had been some positive changes of late with the running of the club and they were actively trying to get visitors back and re -establish the clubs desrved reputation.

Cheers mate. All is well, apart from the golf of course. I've been keeping my eye on things from time to time on the forum, but not felt the need to pass comment until now.

Trust things good with you - seems a long time since we played at Formby Hall and even more ridiculous that you were off 21 or something at the time. Was never going to be for long.

Yes definitely. Played it a few times over the winter and it was in good condition then. Your biggest problem will be heading into North Wales on bank holiday Monday and then heading home afterwards.

Yep, play every weekend, a few club matches and now and again through work. None of it very good!

Involved at Committee level now, so that takes up a lot of time. Then there's the wife & kids........

Thanks all, could be a goer:-

Hosts to the Welsh Ladies Open Strokeplay Championships 2014 & Senior Ladies British Open Amateur Championship 2015.

They have loads of tee times free through to 4.00. I think with it being the bank holiday a mid afternoon tee time could be good to avoid the holiday traffic, maybe about 2.30 tee time. Me, gary-in-derry and his mate are game, we can book in in pairs and have a bit of a meet. I'll also post in the arrange a game section.
