So after week 2 what do we think? As expected MVG looks the man to beat. Not sure what's happening with Taylor.
My money was on Lewis before it started, happy with his start.

MVG will smash the field to pieces imo. Only man who is as consistent as him usually is Taylor but he is well out of sorts. Lewis on his day can beat him but too often he is not on top form.

You could be right about MVG Birchy,I backed Lewis because he was a decent price & had half o chance.

Yeah its not a bad bet if you like watching it and want a something to cheer on each week etc. If he turns up at the right time he has got the quality.

Part of the problem Taylor is having is his darts

He has used the same unicorn darts for years, but now he has switched to Target

They have tried to replicate his Unicorn Darts of old, but as yet it isnt quite there

Once he gets fully comfortable with his darts, he will be back on top

Nice guy is Taylor

He has always used Unicorn darts but not the same ones. He has changed them many times over the years, from the original knitting needles he used to use to 4 or 5 different versions of the big chunky ones he uses now.

Not sure it's the new darts this time.

Taylor did win a tournament earlier in the week and beat Lewis on the way to doing so and with a 9 darter along the way so the darts must be working for him.

To be honest I think Taylor needs to be knocked back a peg or two so I'm happy to see him getting a thumping for a while... He WILL be back though.

Last weekend in the UK open Qualifier Taylor beat Lewis with 118 average 6-2 with a 9 darter. He had also thrown a 9 darter earlier in the competition his average did not drop below 107 the whole day. The darts are not the problem.

Like all great sportsmen who have dominated for years (Woods, Hendry, etc) there has to come a time when that ability begins to wane and others come along and beat them more often. I think Taylor is just reaching that stage.
