With the plethora of tees on the market what does everybody here use--Wooden,plastic,Brush type, etc.

Personally i prefer the plain simple wooden high tees for the driver and the small wooden tees for iron tee shots.

70mm for my woods & 54 mm for irons all in wood.i buy mine in bulk 1000 at a time and split them between some mates. It works out really cheap as opposed to paying silly prices in some shops and they are great quality.
Or you could be like an old guy at our club as he goes round picking the broken ones up and has a pencil sharpener to put the point back on them.

Yeah. 70 mm blank, white, wooden tees in bulk.

Bought 2000 online at the beginning of the year and they're likely to last me the rest of my life! Just snap them down to size for my irons on par 3s

I got mine here;- http://www.ez-teezy.co.uk/

Works out at 1.8 pence per tee as opposed to the rip off costs from most pro shops. I notice American Golf do 1000 for £20, too.

wooden tees for me mate
for tee shots with irons i usually find a broken one someone has left behind
anyone figured why according to jjb and the golf channel why the brush tee adds yards to your distance or is it on the same lines of you can hit the green at 10th on the Belfry with that super dupper driver the K1 SPEED

supposed to be less friction with the brush tee's.
mathematically they will be right about the less friction but in the extra yardage i doubt it will be very much in distance, certainly not £1+ for 1 tee's worth

I only use the castle ones. orange + red (irons) blue (5 and 3 wood) Silver (Driver). If I use my old driver, white will suffice.
Dunno why folk don't like them....gives the same height every time out, more scientific than the wood ones, which I prefer in general terms (don't like loosing a tee which takes 2,500 years to degrade!!)
Tried some brush tees (yellow) NOT high enough for 460 driver....waste of £5.
If you use them, I'll send you them for Christmas.

Dave

PS - LAST POST for a while. Upgrading to <8mb access, could
be rebuilding OS on laptop from scratch.....see you all on the other side.

Just to say, it's been great here and really kept me keen on my golf. If I don't make it back as RGuk, I'll post a thread with my new name.

I was told that plastic tees are bad for your clubs. However, being Scottish, it annoys me when I break a wooden tee with every drive.
Thank you to the guys who have pointed out cheap tees on the net.

I used plastic tees until 2 hours ago, use to carry hundreds with me, all in different heights and colours! What a plonker I was!

Just bought a load of big wooden tees online.

I hardly use a tee on par 3's unless the hole is over 170yards away.

What you doing up at that time of day Madandra? On a Sunday that should be illegal!

I'm into bulk buying on t'internet. Nice plain wooden tees.

Saw a golf channel prog recently where Laura Davies was playing her driver off the gound after knocking up a lump in the tee with an iron. Amazing shot!

I buy the long tees in bulk and then snap them down as required.

I see no value in crown tees, brush tees etc, as I say with fishing, is it designed to catch fish.... or gullible anglers. I believe the same applies quite ofthen in golf.
