What opinions do you all have regarding the shafts that are out there and what is your preferred shaft?

I've just purchased a TM R5 fairway 3W and it came with a Grafalloy Blue S flex shaft which I absolutely love. I also play TM driver and TM rescue and these both have stock shaft as sold with the club. Both are R flex and I prefer my 3W due to the Grafalloy S shaft. I was thinking about shafts today (gigitty) and looked around the web and I have a list of shafts I would like to try. What shafts have you used and would use every time?

Others I have read up on which I think would suit my swing/style are:

Mitsubishi JavlnFX
Mitsubishi Bassara
SK Fiber Aero Jet
Grafalloy ProLaunch RED
Grafalloy ProLaunch Platinum
Fujikura E260
Aldila NVS

What's your choice?

My cally driver is a Fujikura R, however I have just purchased a 5 wood with a Grafalloy prolaunch blue which I seem to be really getting on with. To the point where I may change the driver!

I like the project X stell shaft in my irons. Seem to get more penetration than with the Dynamic Golds.

The problem with graphite shafts is that they're all so different. A grafalloy prolaunch blue in regular may well be different to a grafalloy prolaunch red etc etc. And the word regular or stiff on a shaft is just a waste of print. Callaway regular won't be the same as Fujikura or Grafalloy or anyone elses.

Its about time there was a standard surely....

I love the aldila shafts. The shaft im my driver is my fave.

Bit strange you play with a stiff shaft in your 3 wood and regular in driver.

what is your swing speed?

You can't guess from specifications, it is all about how it fits the head, and how it is stepped in.

Usual thing, don't waste money guessing, get c/f. Get it right first time.

I have a UST Harmon tour design GXR stepped two points short of stiff and pured.

This will mean nothing to anyone, including me, but demonstrates why you shouldn't be picking your own shaft.

I bought the 3W and it came with the S shaft. It replaced a steel shaft TM burner. Since playing with it I have come to really like the feel when it booms the ball straight down the middle on par 5's. My irons are stiff shaft and I hit them good too. Only the short irons mind.

I'm currently in the process of arranging a custom fitting so I will get to play around a bit and see which suits best. For now though, man I love hitting my 3W.

Murp has nailed it.

Get CF it is the way forward. I always had Fujikura Vista Pro in my woods and DG X100 lite/Rifle Tour Flighted 6.5s in my irons. Now look at my sig and see what I actually needed to make these heads work.
