PNWokingham (Paul) produced the Lakes in the best condition and best weather i've evr seen in quite a few visits.

Sun sun and more sun . I followed the trend of having the umbrella up to keep teh sun off which worked well

Really enjoyed the round and great company (teegirl and fullthrottle) leaving the other 4 to play their 4bBB which ended with a Snelly sneaky alidy downhill 15ft birdie on the 18th for a win .

Great day - great course
Blackmoor here we come

Many and sincere thanks to Paul for the invitation. I have played some terrific courses in my time and I have to say that Bearwood is up there with the best of them. We of course saw it today at it's best in glorious sunshine, warm temperatures and stunning condition.

It is a lovely course that I really enjoyed, despite my putting woes. :o

We had a superb game in our 4 ball too as Jammy and I took on PN and Bob. Very few holes were halved and it went down to the wire. On the 17th, JD pulled a lovely birdie out of the bag to draw us level and then on the 18th, I managed to hole my only putt of the day. I think it was probably more than 15 feet, nearer 25 I would guess and it was fast, downhill and moved about 4 feet from left to right. No-one was more surprised to see it drop than me! Paul had a filthy little five footer across the break and down the slope to halve the match after that but it agonisingly missed on the left. A shame as a half would have been the fairest result and a good reflection of the match.

The whole day was fantastic on a great course, lovely weather and excellent company with some decent golf played by all.

Dave's opening birdie set the tone and Bob followed it up with another at the 2nd! Paul was level par after 5 too. My own highlight was a 120 yard 5 iron punch under three trees that cut around a corner, leapt a ditch and and ran up to the green. Sounds implausible I know but I had talked my playing partners through the shot before I did it!

Many thanks again Paul. A terrific day out at one of the best inland courses I have ever played. Made Loch Lomond and the Grove look decidely average.

Cheers,

Snelly.

Guys - it was a pleasure. Boy was it hot and today is going to be even hotter. I am going to folow Steve's adice (Sev112) and take the trolley with umbrella today. Well done to Steve for a winning 37 points.

We had a really good game in our 4-ball - Bob and I came out strong and were 3 up after 5 - I was level par after 5, 1 putting 1-4 and missing a small birdie on 5. The wheels then promptly fell off. Snelly then did produce a punch 130 yarder under the tree line on 10, bounced the ditch and ended on the green giving him a par chance - and he called it exactly before hitting. The last 2 holes made a dramatic end. We were all on 17 in 2. I missed the birdie by a midge's mary - it looked in even a few inches from the hole but just died at the end - then Dave (Jammy) - slotted his to move back to level for only the second time! The Daves both hit good drives down 18. I had a shot and despite the heckling nutted easily my best drive of the day - 300+ just off the end of the fairway - 90 to go to a front pin. Snelly hit a good shot - but left it above the flag - not wanting to spin the tale but it was more like 40 foot - at least 10 metres. My chip fell just short of the green and I putted above the hole. As mentioned, Snelly slotted his - it looked in all the way and was a great put from a tricky location. I missed the par and they won - the oly time in the match that they were up!! A beer on the balcony finished great day. Now carrying a sore undercarriage into todays 27-holer!! :(

I too wish to pass on my thanks to Paul for organising the day and to both Jan(Teegirl) and Steve (Sev112)for their company and encouragement.

Much too hot to be walking around a golf course, but better that than gardening...

A course I would have no hesitation on visiting again should the opportunity arise

Crumbs! Praise indeed. Defo need to get my arse down there for a round.

This is my first opportunity to gain internet access as I only got back last night.

I wish to pass on my thanks to Paul for inviting us down to Bearwood and showing off his terrific course. I arrived early and just sat on the balcony soaking up the setting. The way the 3 holes spread out in front of you with the elevation changes and lay out took my breath away at first sight. It really got my juices flowing at the thought of trying to tame it.

Many thanks to Bob,Snelly and Paul for what turned out to be a great little 4bbb tussle. Not once in the entire round did I think we would win especially with all those 4 for 3's we kept hearing from Paul :D

Snelly hits it a country mile when he gets hold of it but he had one of those days we all have on the greens or he would have shot a reaaly good score. Great putt on the last and i can still see it snaking into the hole. You beauty.

Paul I can see why you'd want to play there and you wouldnt ever get tired of walking up to the first with your whole round ahead of you. The course was presented in excellent condition and was a joy to play.

It was also great to meet Teegirl, Full throttle and Sev112 and thanks to everyone for their company on a baking hot day.
