Felt I had to post about this, even though it is as dull as ditchwater to most, as recently every time I’ve posted about my game it’s been about what a pile of pooh it is.

Went out for a quick 18 this evening, playing okay but no real confidence in my swing, then around the turn I realised I was collapsing my left arm at the top of my backswing, encouraging an overswing and getting in all the wrong positions. So I concentrated on keeping a firmer left arm, a shorter backswing resulted and the quality of strike came back!

Not perfect by any means but I felt like I was going to make a good contact with the ball and it would go in the desired direction! Iron play was the best it’s been for ages, at no time did I feel I was going to shank one.

A couple of weeks until the next comp so time to bed it in and then just see what happens. Apologies for the boring post but it’s the most positive I’ve felt about my game for months. :D

Well done, you can't beat finding a fault yourself and working out how to fix it.

I have a bad habit of my arm and shoulder becoming disconnected late in a round so I have been working on making sure my shoulders turn properly during my backswing.
