Just been thinking with the Froch v Groves boxing tonight which is on Sky Box Office for a fee of £15. How come Sky still charge for big boxing fights but you can watch big Premiership/European football games for free, as well as a lot of other big sporting events.

Dunno how many people pay but i havnt ever paid and will never will, downside is that I lost the interest that I used to have for boxing.

I've paid and I can't wait, all of my footy teams come in today and my last item on the list is Froch to win and I'm in the money.

Come on The Cobra!!, I don't think it will be an easy night though...

What a absolute con! Soon as Groves looks under pressure the ref stops it!

Now a big money rematch is on the cards, what a surprise!

It's all about the money which spoils boxing these days.

I would rather have lost my bet (£200) than that to happen to Groves. I have just completely gone off Froch and I've been a massive since the day I started boxing 10 years ago!!!

Absolute DISCRACE!!!

Whilst I agree that it was stopped too early, why is that Froch's fault?

If you watch any of the old boxing films- like the champ, raging bull, somebody up there likes me, etc.
Corruption, they didn't have to make it up, and its still happening.

The way he acted after the fight, he should have given Groves a lot more credit for his performance. He acted as if he had bossed the fight and was a worthy winner. I can't believe the scorecards had Froch one point behind, he won 2 of the rounds at the most.

Never liked Froch but he's been in a few good tear ups, Jean Pascal being the highlight. The people who were getting bent out of shape about Groves pre-fight seem to have forgotten that Froch used to speak in the same way about Calzaghe. Fair play to Groves, got the crowd on his side in the right fashion

Fair enough. I agree he should have given him a lot more credit (especially for putting him on his arse in the first). I think everyone was puzzled by the scorecards. It was as though they were watching a different fight. I think it would have been a bigger scandal if it had gone the distance and Froch won on points.

Specifically on the stoppage, lots of experts this morning are on reflection, saying that the referee stepped in maybe a fraction early but that it was basically the right thing to do. Groves was not defending himself and the next two or three shots could have really messed him up.

Not a perfect finish I know but it was a stoppage, it was correct and they will probably all agree to a rematch anyway!

Because SKY make all their money from showing the Premier League, so that is basically what you are paying for with your sports package subscription. I think more or less everyone I know only has the sports package because of the footie on it. Add all this big boxing to it for free would just put up the subscriptions.

Just watched this again and it was never a stoppage, yes he was in a little bit of trouble but not enough to stop it. Why didn't the ref give a standing count much like the ref did in the Bute fight?

Froch was a desperate mate late in the fight and if Groves had of done some of the things Froch did he would of surely had a point off. Groves totally outclassed Froch and there's no way in hell he'll want a rematch.

His PR people will come up with a lame excuse and he'll avoid it.

Never a stoppage at that point.

Groves wasnt defending himself, and if it was a journeyman vs prospect fight you can understand refs stepping in a touch early, but whilst he wasnt defending itself it is a world title fight, and as such the ref should have given him a chance.

I think the referee couldnt wait to stop it and when the opportunity arose he grasped it and waved it off.

As for Froch, he wont want a rematch thats for sure.
