I know some of you are either for or against powered trolleys, but i was so knackered coming up the last five fairways in my first match last sunday it definitely cost me a few stableford points.
As a consequence i am going to succumb and get a power trolley.
It will need to be able to take a Cart bag with 14 clubs and i will probably need to use it twice every weekend so i will need a reliable one.
Any suggestions as to which models and makes to check out.
Obviously in this current financial climate cost is a concern too.

£234 + p&p = Go Kart - does everything you need at a cheap price. Will easily carry a trolley bag laden with waterproofs, drinks etc. Sorry if it seems like a broken record but the OP wants a cheap alternative and for robustness, value and after sales service it seems the best choice

Homer (among others is going to say GoKart.

I have a Hillbilly terrain. Ok, but not the best in my view.

Main gripe (apart from limited mud clearance on front wheel - a common problem, get the one with the biggest mud clearance, or it will jam) is a noisy gearbox. It was almost silent, but now after 6 months is noisy as.

Remote control is the way to go. I have had mine now for 4 years and it's fantastic. Powerkaddy Robocaddy. their pricey but when you want to play your best, you got to have to best. It's like having a caddy, only thing is, it dosent talk to you. I'd be lost without my Powerkaddy remote.
Sorry homer, if I've stood on your toes.

Guys I know with rc (mainly Stewart, but some PK) spend so much time driving it, they don't see the view, or get to talk to their partners. Seems pointless to me. All the money, all the gear. Genuinely only really useful when it is winter, and the ropes are out. That said, most of their depth perception is so poor that they can't navigate it around the green anyway. (I also like to be able to putt out without a trolley moving about in the back ground and the remote going beep every time a button is pushed).

Find a Powakady dealer/repair centre and 9 times out of 10 you can pick up a really good reconditioned/ second hand freeway or similar for around the 200 mark and they will give you 3 monthes waranty.

I have a freeway and i love it. Looks great, performs great and is easy to get parts for.

It's the same as mine just branded up Lucas, mine came with a Lucas battery. I was delighted with mine, hope you are with yours.

GoKart prices seem to have been creeping up ? They used to be nearer £200, now £234 plus delivery. I understand them selling cheap to get some market share but if they're removing that then they become much less attractive as a purchase. Rather than being the obvious low price product, they're now competing against copies of more expensive products. I just don't buy the after sales service line, where else would you buy something because it'll get fixed when it breaks down. I'd sooner buy something that works

Colin

I think you are missing the point with the after sales service. Not only will they collect saving expensive postal costs or petrol taking it to an approved repairer but wherever possible they'll lend you a replacement whilst yours is being fixed.

There have been examples on here of forum members damaging their GK through their own negligence and GK as a company could have said it doesn't fall within the terms of the warranty and left it at that but they fixed it with no quibbles.

I still think they offer a realistic budget priced option and that the after sales service is something you can't put a value on

I don't deny that they offer good service, the pick up loan thing in particular is great.

But look at some of the cases where this after sales service has been needed ie the trolley blew over and broke, it was damaged putting it in a locker. There are probably 4 or 5 instances on the forum in my short time here of people saying "it broke they fixed it", if they're were 5 PK or MC customers saying "it broke they didn't fix it" I'd understand the argument.

Don;t get me wrong, I think GK's are good, but if they're putting up the prices it makes them less attractive
