Have had problems with my Powakaddy FW11 which is 9 months old from the start. This involves it going when it should be on pause. I set the speed to 0 but it still sets off and sometimes does not go at all.

Went to my retailer and also phoned Powakaddy twice today, cut off twice by them and after waiting 15 mins was told it is my responibility to take the trolley to a repair shop if they are 25 miles away.

That could involve a trip of 100 miles as the shop would need time to check ALL the faults.

What sort of service is that? When I change I will be looking elsewhere.

As a potential new customer I have heard all sorts of horror stories regarding the first batch of FW2. Take it back to the shop that sold it and demand a new one as the one you have is not fit for purpose.

Because you've owned it for more than a couple of months, you have to give them the chance to repair it. If it fails again then you can ask for a refund (this is the advice given to me by trading standards when my TM irons fell apart). Have you phoned the shop ? Who are they, would they pick it up ?

I heard too many stories about PK which is why I went for Motocaddy

Thanks for the comments and advice Colint. The shop is a local pro and this was not the answer I wanted after paying £340. After much debate I am going to return the trolley to him, this has happened in the last 2 hours and take it from there.

However my main complaint is with Powakaddy regarding their service or more importantly LACK OF IT!

I think as you bought it from the pro your contract is with him and that it's him that has to have the opportunity to fix it (how he does that isn't your problem) or you can get a refund. It will be his concern to then get a credit note/replacement from Powakaddy.

I bought the plastic pig as its being called for one reason. Their after sales service.

One of my regular guys in our weekend comp has a Hillbilly Terrain. Last Sat the motor was failing to engage with the axle. Looking at it, one of the screws has come out that hold the motor on. Consequently the motor had dropped and the gear linkage was churning it's self to pieces. The plastic bracket had also split causing further problems.

After the round we went into the Pro shop, as this is where it was bought. We were told that because they weren't allowed to be a repair or service centre be the manufacture, that they didn't sell them anymore and we'd have to sort it out ourselves. This means sending or taking the trolley to Alyesford I think.

I hate to say it Murph. But when the plastic pig motor burnt out, no fault of the manufacture. It was replaced immediately, and they collected and delivered FOC, and I had a replacment whilst mine was being sorted.

Sometimes in this world, it's not all about getting what you pay for.

Hope you get your trolley sorted quickly.

I think we need the assistance of one of our learned colleagues.
Just what is the status of a guarantee within the guarantee period?
who is the guarantee with?
is your guarantee null and void if the card is not 'completed by the vendor at the time of purchase'? (the card is. of course, typically buried deeply within several layers of polythene bag none of which may be torn or you cannot return 'in original condition'.)
