I am after a waterproof cart bag and i wondered if the new Premium pu/vinyl (pvc) is waterproof or do i need to invest in a more expensive water proof bag? or which bags are waterproof?

I had one and, up to a point, it's pretty watertight. Obviously the zips are not of a waterproof nature so will let some through but for the most part everything stayed as dry as you could reasonably expect.

I have one and it will be the last one I ever have. Worst. Bag. Ever. The zips have fallen off the stitching around the pockets and carry handles has all come away and it looks crap.

They are to a degree waterproof. But if you really want waterproof, just get the cover to go over the bag aswell.

The most important thing though if you want to keep all your gear dry is to make sure it is bone dry when you put it back in the bag or the other bits eventually get wet too. But with your trolley, with an umbrella attachment you can put dry towels on the spokes of your brolly to make sure everything is dried well. I even hang spare gloves up there

Ive got Motocaddy Pro series cart bag ..... CRAP
On my 2nd bag now, as 1st replaced, bust zips
Had loadsa probs getting replacement
Now this one, insides of pockets, linings tearing, other niggles, not recommended

I was going to buy the PVC Powakaddy, but got offered a 'deal' on the Motocaddy bag from my mate, I wont be buying another though.........EVER

Waterproof Bag -- Sun Mountain H2NO -- trolley bag and a stand bag version too, Very Expensive, But Quality gear from Sun Mountain

I don't think there is such a thing as a waterproof bag. As stated above, get one of the covers to go over bag and trolley and you should be fine though. I've got a Powakaddy cover which is quite good as it has a handy pocket for scorecard/pencil etc.

Ive got a powakaddy deluxe IV vinyl cart bag and have to say its very good. Obviously not totally waterproof but much better than the Mizuno speedstar bag I had before.

The only thing that really annoys me is you would expect a powakaddy cart bag to sit perfectly on a powakaddy twinline 3 trolley!!!! Apparently only the electric powakaddy trolleys are designed to "lock" these cart bags into place. I have spent many around trying to adjust the bag so it doesn`t slip sideways.

Can anybody enlighten me on why powakaddy seem to think this is acceptable and ineffect punish me for not having an electric trolley?

I have the Deluxe IV and been rained on a few times, no problem at all, as I use the macwet golves its easier as you are not towelling stuff dry all the time. Everything that was zipped away remained dry, all the zips work fine and the handles all good too.

Personally I would get another.

If you need your bag waterproof in any way don't buy Powakaddy. The rain hood is designed in such a way that it leaves two decent sized holesletting water run down inside the bag (incidentally the design team atPowakaddy in a response email to me believe that the drain holes at the bottomof the bag combat this, so let the water in, it gets all your gear wet but hey,it drains away so that's OK).

I've enclosed a pic to show the flaw.

I think its on back to front .

I know it might look that way but that's the only way it can fit and I checked with Powakaddy. It's just a poor design as they've been more concerned about fitting it around the handle than keeping the bag dry.

It's a Powerkaddy - they have been consistently poor for the past 3 years , it's the reason they went into administration and had to bailed out. Will be surprised to see many new models from them in the coming years

I would never buy another bag from Powakaddy, Mine has worn within 18months , the zips are stiff and awkward , they DON'T do repairs.
Now I hear the hood won't keep the rain out [never had to use the hood yet] also their customer service are not helpful.
So beware !.

I have a Motocaddy cart bag and it does keep some of the water out but in torrential rain, water gets in via the zips so even with the hood on the clubs still get wet grips. To be honest though, with Macwet grips I can get away with it for the most part and did play in biblical rain about six weeks without too many issues.

My bag still okay after 2 years, may get a new one as fancy a change but apart from one busted zip (that was me shutting the boot lid on it !!!) it is absolutely fine
