I am looking to purchase an electric trolley with a £400 budget.
Ive done some research and keep coming back to the Motocaddy s3 pro or the powacaddy sport..
Can anyone throw another trolley into the equation or give me your opinion on either the above.
£400 on a trolley does represent a large amount of money to me and I want to ensure I get it right..
Thanks in advance for any advice given..

Let's not turn this into an anti/pro GoKart thread folks.

All I would say is consider GoKart- they offer great customer service and aftersales service. Some would argue that if the product was brilliant they would have no need for an aftersales service!

Just another name to consider Jonny.

Dad & cousin have GoKarts. The service is very good, parts are cheap and can be delivered quite quick (Dad has had his for years when they first came out, a few replacement bits but still going strong!).

Worth looking into.

never had an electric trolley but if you are after a bargain have a look at the golf help for heroes auction site. They have a motorcaddy m1 on offer and the last bid was £251!

you may get it less than you wnat to pay and it goes to a good charity too.

Ive got a Motocaddy S1 elec trolley
Great , never had a problem
Big thumbs up  Happy to Recommend

I wouldnt however, buy another Motocaddy bag , zips.......dont talk to me about zips....

Personally had issues with a motocaddy in the past so chose to look elsewhere. Bought a Golfstream Revolution, which is slightly above budget (their new Evolution is within budget) and it is far far better built than the motocaddy for me, by a small english firm, and the only time Ive had any issues with it (in 3 yrs) the customer service levels been way above what could be expected. Not the cheapest product on the market but more reliable and better built imo

A thumbs up for Go Kart from me. A British firm, it is small (fits into the boot of the Fiesta) reliable (in my case) and they have an outstanding customer service set up should anything untoward go wrong.

The Golfstream does look nice, my old club pro shop started stocking them having been a preferred Powakaddy dealer for years. I have a Go-Kart, have had one since they first started and love it, simple to use and never goes wrong. They are also a great company to deal with. Sometimes I think I would like something with a few more bells and whistles but the Go-Kart does the job and does it well so could never justify a change.

I quite literally wore my Motocaddy S1 out. Never had an issue with it in over 6 years... it was on its 3rd battery when I decided to retire it. It would probably have gone on for a while longer but when HID offered to buy a new Motocaddy I was quite happy to go with them again.

Always had powercaddy, but after the rip off I got from them to upgrade from the dismal freewayII to powercaddy sport, I will not buy from them again. Even the newer sport has issues. I will go with motorkaddy next time.

Hi there,

It really depends on what you're looking for. I bought my first electric trolley three years ago and just wanted something simple with little to go wrong. My mates father in law had a powerbug for around 6yrs and had no problems with it so I bought one at the golf show that yr (2010) for £230 and that included the coverall bag for the trolley. The trolley and battery are still going strong now.Plus points are its simplicity and no need for a cart bag plus you can click the wheel out one notch and use it as a pull trolley. Negatives-no features other than the speed control dial.

Thanks for all your responses, I've looked at the go kart offering and found it looks very basic compared to others.
I'm not bothered about having a singing and dancing trolley but a few options would be nice for the money I'm looking spend.
Can you tell me where I can find the help for heroes auction site regard the Motocaddy M1??

I know somebody that has a brand new still in box Motocaddy M1 Pro 18 hole lithuim for sale. RRP £549 (he won it as a prize) I think he's been looking for £350

Had a MotocaddyS1 for 3 years now - not one single problem. At the same time a mate bought a Powerkaddy and has been back 4 times. They have struggled in recent years and there recent trollies have been poor. The Motocaddy is easy to put up and down and simple to use. A lot of clubs now use them as hire electric trolleys instead of powerkaddy.

Im not a fan of the look of the Go kart - FC has one and it works and does the job.

If you have a budget of 400 quid i would get a motocaddy every day

Hi,

I used to own a Powakaddy but sold it when I had a "rest" from the game. Not a bad bit of kit it was a freeway and that was about 6 years ago.

purchased a Motocaddy S1 last week and also managed to drive a bit of a bargain with a snazzy cart bag from AMerican Golf, got over £475 worth for £400. Took a bit of negotiating but i do shop there often for stuff.

really pleased with the motocaddy, no issues setting up charging etc. the bag fits on tight and doesn't move and it makes the 18 holes really easy. I did plenty of research into what was about and decided that for what I needed it was the most economic option. I went for the 18 hole battery with the thoughts that I can pick another up for less than £50 notes with a charger On flea bay if I start playing 36 hole comps.

I've had both (well S1 in Motocaddy) and in terms of build quality the Powacaddy sport wins hands down. In terms of reliability, I replaced the mpotocaddy battery after 5 years then sold it on, it was a great trolley. I bought the powakcaddy last year and it's been superb.

My advice is whichever brand you buy go for a basic model and go for a reputable brand, (powakaddy, motocaddy, go-kart). Putting it simply there is far less to go wrong and it will do everything you ask of it.

I bought a second hand Powakaddy freeway several years ago, played 2-3 times a week during the summer and the only thing I've changed was a potentiometer which took minutes and cost £15

Motocaddy all the way, having worked in the industry, i have seen the sales of motocaddy increase due to what you get for your money. A higher quality build and the range of accessories is impressive, hope this helps.
