I plugged my battery into my charger the other day, there was a bit of a bang and the charger is now dead! The item is 6 months outside the warranty. I called Powakaddy and the result of that was . . . . "it sounds like a component inside the sealed unit has failed, you are outside the warranty period buy a new one." I did some research online culminating in a call to trading standards and it is the case that if the unit was sold with a part which was not fit for purpose they must replace the unit. I called Powakaddy and they agreed with the letter of the law but told me that |I must employ a "forensic expert" who will state that the faulty part was faulty when it was sold.

Nice doing business with you Powakaddy I'll remember this next time I'm in the market to change my trolley!

No, but I'd be willing to bet that even half an hour of his time will cost you more than a new charger.
Even then, not sure you can prove a failed item wasn't fit for purpose when bought if it's worked for 18 months.

If it's just a matter of principle for you fine, but personally I'd write it off and buy another one from someone else.

Obviously not at Powacaddy. I've had issues with Powacaddy and find them ' RUBBISH.' ......

I wont deal deal with them again.

What appalling customer service? So soon out of warranty I would have hoped that they would have been more accommodating. I too will think twice about buying from Powakaddy next time.

So how old is the battery ?

18 months or so and out of warranty ? Seems like the normal response from a company

Obviously some companies go beyond the normal and possibly if it was a couple days out of warranty then they coulf posdibly do something but 6 months ?

I had trouble with battery & charger within warranty. After 10/11 months Battery would run out after 16/17 holes. Powercaddy tested both said nothing wrong with either. By the time they had tested and returned it and I got suitable weather to play it still didn't last round. Their answer was you are out of warranty now.
