Having a nightmare today and no birdies at all.

Despite having a very poor year you cant blame McGinley for picking him as a wild card but given his form I don't think I would pick him for any other groups until the singles.

Be nice to see Westwood and McDowell out this afternoon.

sport has a way of making a mockery of reputations. I would leave him till the singles. he has been poor for ages.

I would play him again in the fourballs tomorrow and give him a chance to repeat his feat of 2012, which set the stage for the "miracle at Medina". There is no doubt that the Americans fear him and Tom Watson has said as much.
I wouldn't let him near the foursomes.
It was interesting to hear Monty say that he made a mistake by playing a rookie with Poulter in 2010 and the same mistake has been repeated this time.

Suspect if you ask Watson now he'd say something different.

I think McGinley should not buy in the romanticism and myth of Poulter at the Ryder Cup and look at the reality. He's playing poorly and has little to no form coming into it. And has had a shocker this morning. I fear if he continues to play him, hoping for the Poulter of previous Ryder Cups to reappear, it could be his downfall.

It's a tough call as to whether you play either Poulter or Gallacher before Sunday as both played poorly.

I feel a wee bit sorry for them both. Their opponents had a really good day and that just built the pressure. Stevie G was clearly very nervous and did hit some bad shots but also played some decent stuff although didn't hole the putts. I'd play him again, but with a different partner.

Blimey - one bad result where his opponents played very well and the knives are out

Remember when he lost his first match in the 2008 RC - came back from that

Tweeting him to slag him off !! Great support

I would play him tomorrow in the fourballs with Rory or Rose.
To be honest there was very little atmosphere in there group today and
Poulter thrives on passion,so as the comp goes on and the pressure ramps up I
hope he will perform better.

It all depends on how today goes.

At the moment Rose & Stenson, Rory & Garcia are nailed on to be playing.

Tommy Bjorn played a blinder today as well so he will deffo be in fourballs again.

As it stands he is struggling for a spot imo unless this afternoon goes very badly.

Yes, get him out there with the right partner (that isn't a dig at Stephen G btw).

He's got the best record still in Europe. Definitely can't hide him. Seem to remember his form was scratchy before Medinah.

Anyone going to drop Garcia and Rory because they lost?

i would drop GALLAGHER not play him again and claim he has a sore toe so cant play on Sunday,he was terrible, the event has been to much for him,POULTS needs some one to bounce off and slip in on holes not having to carry someone for 18 holes.
