Got a Tour bag on ebay and a guy is interested but has asked if i'll ship it to Italy -

Has anyone done similar recently? ...If so, who did you use and what was the approximate cost?

Used a few quote calculators on various websites - parcel force, dpd, fed ex, etc, but the price is coming out at £88+vat and up.

Obviously the cost will be passed on to the buyer but as its going to cost more than what i've got the bag up for i can't see him going for it.

Thanks

Matt

go very careful with posting to Italy its notorious for stuff going missing, if you do post make sure you pay extra for tracked delivery, proof of posting counts for nothing with ebay these days

I live in France and get a lot of stuff shipped over from the UK. I usually use www.parcel2go.com and find them very reliable.

Parcel2go are just a comparison website, although they do offer best price from all couriers and an efficient easy to use service.

No, they are a secondary reseller of discounted shipping services, like Interparcel.

The big shippers sell excess shipping at a discount - the plane is going anyway, may as well have some cheaper items than empty space.

They are therefore much cheaper than direct sales from UPS etc. I have used Interparcel many times and found them to be very reliable. UPS is their standard shipper and will provide tracked services to the destination. Shipping a few clubs to Italy would probably cost in the region of £25 or so. Dunno about the Tour bag, becasue that is quite bulky, so try to get the neatest sized box you can.

Also live in France and have often used ParcelsPlease with no problems.
Bit of a tangent.I am on the look out for a Superfast 2.0 hybrid 3. Have contacted 2 professional sellers on the bay only to be told that previous bad experiences have led to blanket bans on overseas bidders. Bit cheesed off as I have successfully bid for stuff in the US, Germany and the UK and my 100% positive feedback has been good enough for those sellers.

If I'm in that situation I get the dimensions and weight of the parcel and arrange the shipping myself. This takes all the responsibility away from the UK seller and usually they agree to sell to me in France.
