sending a golf club is up to £11.96 !

48hr parcelforce!

:(

I know just sent a club. Previous one I sent was about £5. They have changed the measurements for parcels, so golf clubs are no longer medium size.:( Will have to find an alternative service, any ideas anyone.

ive just used them and as the two folk haven't said otherwise, I think its a great service. I booked it on the nite before and dropped them off before 12 the next day and they were delivered by about 5pm the next day

I am sure some people have good experiences, but overall, Hermes gets hideous reviews for reliability and care with parcel handling. I always use UPS as my preferred shipper, and buy shipping through Interparcel http://www.interparcel.com. Parcel2Go is a similar third party reseller http://www.parcel2go.com.

With these, you have a choice of carriers and services and they work out cheaper than Parcelforce almost all of the time. More reliable too.

I'm fortunate in that I can use my courier at work. £8.25 for almost any box up to 25kg through gold star couriers (may be north east based but ship anywhere on mainland). Sometimes my accounts team even forget to take the money from my salary :)

Never had any issues with myHermes. Booked, picked up delivered on time every time. I've sent loads with them, in excess of 20 parcels (loads for me!) never had any issues at all.

I always book through parcels2go and they are usually the cheapest. In my experience they don't compromise on service either.

I also use MyHermes and recommend it.

They do not pick up at a given time, although you are able to tell them a 'safe place' on your property for them to collect from... which means you don't have to be in. The risk is on you if the item is stolen prior to MyHermes picking it up though.

The only issue is that they have a maximum length of 120cm. That's about 47". This makes sending modern long drivers rather difficult, but 3 wood down (or driver shafts) are no porblem.

No, they don't. Most pro shops get their deliveries with UPS.

I have shipped numerous drivers and even a putter stand with UPS. Go to Interparcel http://www.interparcel.com and put in a test quote. A driver is approx 46 inches, or around 124 cm, so put in 140 x 20 x 20 cm just to be sure, and you will have a choice of a number of services including Interparcel Standard and Economy, which are UPS.
