Got some gear on eBay ending shortly, chap messaging me ref postage to Jersey. Looked online but varying answers, any be posted a golf club to jersey, if so, how much was it?

Cheers

As its an offshore island, it will be a hefty bit more than normal costs.

1. go the post office and get a price from them, but give them the sizes and the weight as it may be volumetric (they charge on the size rather than the weight).

2. Ask a mate who works for a company who send loads of parcels out. They may get preferential rates for TNT or someone, and he may be able to give it to them in cash.

4-5 day delivery with Royal Mails "Golbalvalue" product is around £10 for a large parcel weighing no more than 2Kg and insured up to £100.
Not sure if golf clubs fall in to the large parcel category.

They don't, as soon as you declare the length watch the cost triple, at least. offshore islands are a nightmare to send stuff to.

Wonder if the guy on Jersey knows about postage costs which is why he asked?

They all do, you can't help not know when your classed as international postage and live on a island!

I knew general mail was still classed as UK for the Channel Islands and then weight & size restrictions would kick in, but, I've just done a quote with Parcel Force Worldwide and a declared 4ft long tube came out at £14.20 for a 4-5 day service. No doubt you've got to do a customs declaration etc but that's cheap in the grande scheme of things.

There's a thing called Global Shipping on eBay now. It's a choice when you can make in the postage part of the losting
You ship/post to a UK hub and they send it in from there.
Sold a wedge to a guy in Southern Ireland last week and shipped it for £3.50 via myHermes
Not sure how it all works but it got there....

Bought summat from the USA through them, beauty is if it is returned at customs etc, you get a full refund.

Channel Islands, Isle of Man etc. Everyone there knows the score with shipping. Doesn't stop them chancing their arm but they all know it costs much more. This ebay scheme sounds good though.

Bit of a thread hijack here but is it up to the seller to select this global shipping option or the buyer after he has clicked buy now or budded successfully?
