Wifes firm moved offices about 6 months ago from Hammersmith to Brentford, did the usual Post Office Redirect thing for 6 months at a cost of £1400
and it sort of worked, but because the old office building was multiple tenants, the Post Office had to manually sort the mail and inevitably some stuff got missed and delivered to the old address.
No problem, as a backup plan, they supplied the post room bods at the old place with pre printed address stickers so they could chuck them back in the system and they would turn up a day or 2 later.
Yesterday she opens an official looking letter with a redirect sticker on it, obviously these have got fewer over the last couple of months so she was interested to see who had ignored the millions of new address advices they have sent out.
It was an invoice from the post office asking if they wanted the redirect service for another 6 months, but it had been addressed to the old office, the manual checks at the sorting office failed to redirect it to the new office, so the post room bods had sent it on together with a request for more stickers as they were running out
You honestly couldn't make it up
