Hi all, away with the family and friends in a few weeks to Portugal. We are looking to do some golf so just wondering in people's experience where and how is best to book. We are looking at the old course 100% and also one other so open to suggestions.

Thanks

I have only booked t the course it self so cant comment on booking before you go, if you want to book it while you are there then I guess it depends on how busy they are.

I do know that they only let single players book the day before.

Went to Portugal last year and stopped at four seasons Vilamoura. Fortunately at the resort was a couple that have a golf company. Peter Lester is the Pro and his Missis ( Claire ) runs the shop. They are both fantastic and approachable. They guaranteed to have the lowest price in the Vilamora area. I thought it was waffle until I saw the prices I paid compared to the marina area.
Go online and give them a call. I booked my three courses through them on a twilight deal ( after 2.00 pm in October) and saved a good few bob.
They have a very good relationship with the company that owns the old course and its sister courses.

I've just booked a round on both the Vale do Lobos for less than €70 a head, both rounds I got the first twilight time available (3:30) saving us about €45 each.

all of the courses are brilliant around there and appropriately priced

I'm over here now. Going to play tomorrow at Silves. Twilight from 3pm for €29 play as much as you can. €30 club hire though but still a bargain compared to a lot of courses in the area. That is direct with the course.
