Polo Recommendations

Can anybody recommend a good polo shirt for playing in the heat in?

Most of the manufacturers have a model that they say helps keep you cool, but which ones actually work?

I played in a shirt today that made my shoulders feel like they were being cooked, enough is enough.

Under Armour cold black are excellent for this, find their performance polos fine in the heat too

I have 2 types which are both designed to keep cool and to be fair to them, they both work well.

Galvin Green Ventil8, very light & comfortable.
Adidas Climalite, stretchy material but seems to work.

Adidas climates and Oscar Jacobson. I've also got a couple of thin cotton ones by Mantaray from Debenhams. I wouldn't carry if I was wearing them as I doubt they are hard wearing but they are exceptionally comfortable and cool.

Adidas clima-chill by a mile. they have little grey beads around your shoulder and neck that feel really cold all the time. Definately try one out.

Under Armour Heatgear compression vest, seriously. Your own sweat keeps you cool somehow.

Good suggestions but I would be careful on sizes Gaz as I know your a small boys and not all manufacturers are the same

Mint polos are definitely the best. Never liked the fruit ones.

Greg Norman, no idea what model but it's one of those shiny types that's supposed to draw heat away from the body.

GG ventil8 are the business but are at the top end price, unless you wait for the sales 😁

That's exactly what it's meant to do!

Unless it's really hot or cold, or there's a chilling wind, then I don't believe Golf requires 'specialist' sweating/weather gear of the sort 'needed' for the likes of cycling. On the other hand, rain-gear for golf needs to work!

It must be embarrassing to be outdriven by someone as tiny as me

Seriously though, you are right. I usually buy medium in everything. Nike is fine, Greg Norman is fine, I have one UA polo that is massive and I had to buy an adidas windstopper in large and it's still a squeeze getting it on.

You have to be patient with the fruit ones. Crunch too early and they stick your teeth together!
