Re: Poll 2: Least enjoyable thing about winter gol
I have voted for the cold option. It is cold and wet or cold and windy or all three together. It is the hands: once cold useless. I wear lined mitts and light up a carbon stick hand warmer but these don't do what they should.
Re: Poll 2: Least enjoyable thing about winter gol
Has to be temps for me. I can usually play in the coldest of conditions and with the array of modern clothing (base layers, roll neck jumpers, hats and windproof tops) it is pretty easy to layer up and not feel like the Michelin man. I can't see the point in trying to get a ball to react properly hitting in to a tiny prepared bit of ground knowing it won't pitch and hold and that putting will be a lottery even with a larger hole
Re: Poll 2: Least enjoyable thing about winter gol
Temps for me aswell, although we rarely have them. Not too fussed about the cold as the clothing you can get can combat that these days without you having to wear 3 jumpers.
Temps for me , but we only ever have them when its frosty. Also we only have 15 temps as 3 of the pars 3's have no room for a temp. Makes winter league matches a lottery.
Soggy/muddy lies This is the one i voted for as its what I hate about golf. Our course is usually dry and rarely soggy but play anywhere else and this raises its ugly head.
Filthy trousers and shoes I've got enough shoes/trousers to cope
Temporary greens Don't have them at our course.
Bucket holes See above.
Tee mats No matts either
Lack of run I usually play a fade, so lack of run is normal
Bleak views/landscape We sit on a hill, great views.
