Just a little fun, but it would be interesting to see the results. Have a go and post up your results, you can compare it with world leaders, political parties, historical people of importance etc. I think some might be off the scale tbf! Try and be honest and put your results up, it takes a couple of minutes.

http://www.politicalcompass.org/test

I'm -6.88 to the left on the political compass and -5.44 libertarian on the libertarian/authoritarian scale.

I'm further to the left than the Scottish socialist party and respect party and more libertarian than Nelson Mandella, Dalia Llama and the Green party apparently. Always knew I was a Libertine! :ooo:

I reckon some might be further to the right than Pinochet and more authoritarian than Pol Pot! :D

[h=1]Your political compass[/h][h=2]Economic Left/Right: -1.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.64[/h]Very strange result. Expected to be much further to the right than that.

I am -2 on the political compass and -3.95 on the social libertarian one. That is, bizarrely, quite close to Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama, and close to the Greens.

I think the questionnaire is a bit ambiguous in places, though.

Hmmm...

Economic left/right I am -3.75, which surprises me a bit
Social libertarian/authoritarian I am -4.51, which doesn't surprise me

Interesting that not much separates Cameron and miliband in the authoritarian right quadrant... :(

I agree with Ethan, though, some questions were ambiguous and some I neither agreed nor disagreed with but had to choose...

economic -9.5
social lib -5.18

I guess watching enormous multi-national corporations dodging taxes, the offshoring of jobs, the zero hours contracts, the continuing erosion of real wages for the majority while the privileged elite take more, the increasing imbalance between capital and labour, the environmental destruction in the name of profits gets to me more than others....:sbox:

I was quite surprised how far to the left I am, always felt I was a fair bit nearer the centre ground (just to the left of New Labour I thought). Looks like I'm a political clown in the Tommy Sheridan/Karl Marx vein.....or should that be Groucho? :D

I also thought I was more libertarian than my result, even though the result there is pleasing. :D

Economic Left/Right: -6.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.49

Slightly more liberal lefty than Gandhi and the Dalai Lama and very similar to c1973. Maybe we should get together, lace daises in our hair and call each other sister. Cool. ;)

I think he got an infraction a couple of days ago and is blackballed.;)

Seems reasonable, though 'economic' might have been further Right.

I think it depends somewhat on personal definition of 'Strongly'. I think I like the way it has no 'neither agree/disagree' though. A scale might be better.

A hairs breadth away from bang in the middle of the grid, which surprised me. I agree with others though, some of the questions I neither agreed or disagreed with, but had to answer all the same.
Some of the questions were a little odd. I think one on the lines of " do you favour higher taxes to pay for the welfare state and public services or lower taxes so that harder work is rewarded more?" would be much more revealing about a persons political bias.

I simply gave up as the questionnaire is so manipulative.

example

"Those with the ability to pay should have the right to higher standards of medical care"

which is the same (reversed obviously) as

"It should be illegal to purchase better medical treatment than your state provides"

because the only way to remove a right would be to make something illegal......

but I bet many/most would respond differently!

Economic Left/Right: -2.5
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.46

Quite surprised to be left of centre for economics. Not surprised by the Social/libertarian/authoritarian result.

Economic Left/Right: -6.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.31

More left/libertarian than the Dalai Lama.
I think most people will come out bottom left quadrant on those questions.

[h=2]Economic Left/Right: -4.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.87
[/h]That makes me the English version of Alexis Tsipras ......................... Greek leader of The Coalition of the Radical Left.
What a load of rubbish!

Slime.

In fairness, I did say it was just a bit of fun. :)

I mean, I've just discovered I'm politically aligned with Tommy Sheridan and Hacker Khan! Jeezo, One goes to swingers clubs in leather (allegedly) and the other won't swing a club cos leathers not allowed!! Confused or what? ;)

@Hacker I'd love to put daisies in my hair but my long hair days are long gone.........in fact most of my hair has long gone! :D
