one of my radiators wont get hot. all the others in the house are ok.

so far i have tried:
bleeding all the rads in the house.

opening the radiator in question and allow plenty of water to flow out in case there is a air lock. (water is very clean coming out.)

made sure all the valves are fully open.

i think it is a open system as there is no pressure gauge on the boiler and no water valve

Does the radiator have a normal valve or is it fitted with a thermostatic valve ? Might be a faulty tv if it has one.

right lads, i know im a pathetic excuse for a man but I'm guessing a thermostatic valve is the one on the bottom within a turning knob numbers 1 to 5? if so, i do have them and currently set on 5

Sounds like it. Chances are the temp control on valve is shot. Need to change valve.

Unscrew the head and make sure the pin isn't stuck down, if it is you can tap the valve body with a hammer to see if it loosens it.

to change it is pretty simple, block the f n e feed and cap the vent to create a vaccume, this will reduce the pressure enough to swap the valves out

just unscrewed the valve. the pin is moving freely in and out.

Hmm odd, is the lockshield open? Another way is to turn all the other rads off and leave the problem rad on, this will force the water to that one

When you've taken the TRV sensor of the valve body did you actually push the pin down and if so did it spring back out to it original position or did you have to pull it out?
If its sprung out it ok.

i pushed it in about 0.5 cm and it sprung back out

Sounds good  Sometimes the valve seat can stick down but the pin will still move but be slack.

Id turn other rads off just to see if it'll circulate round the Faulty rad.. Maybe leave 1x other on.

Is it getting mildly warm at either top or bottom?

If it's warm at the top and cold at the bottom, it's got sludge in it.
If it's warm at the bottom and cold at the top, it's got air in it.

Sounds to me that the system needs balancing first shut down heating and let the rads go cold shut the lock shield valves right down (clock wise take of plastic cap and turn centre spindle clock wise opposite end to the thermostatic valves) then open them 1 turn turn thermostatic valves on fully and turn on the heating. Go around the rads seeing which ones are getting hot first, rads that are getting hot first turn down quarter of a turn and ones that are cold open quarter turn do this until all rads are hot if said rad is still cold close all thermostatic valves leaving said rad fully open this should force water through said rad another tip make sure circulating pump is on setting no 3
