After all the sunshine this week I was worried about the frost as off at 7:40 this morning. Got up bright and early, looked lovely. Put my shorts on (I know, controversial on here) and started to worry when it was -4 degrees outside.

Got to the club to not only find we were on main greens, but summer tees had been returned two weeks early.

Then checked last week's comp result. I had been disappointed with my 36 points, but found I had been cut to 12.9 (lowest ever) and come third with that - top notch!

And to cap it all, played in tee shirt, shot 8 pars and 10 bogies for a three under handicap, and didn't care that I didn't win with that in our 3 four balls.

What a great day!!!

Because there is really nothing worse than white lower legs on show early in the season.

Tbqh I do like wearing shorts in summer, but only if I've managed to pre-tan my legs a bit.

I'm happy wearing long socks with taylored shorts, though do think once legs are tanned & its warm in summer then cuffed trainersocks are the way to go & look better than the average sports sock.

Great news. Our club has been on proper tees for 2 weeks now and the greens are getter better. Still a bit rough where they have been scarified but the keepers were watering last week because the sun was really drying them out.

As for shorts. If my club allows sports socks to be worn I may get the pins out this summer. And before you all start feeling sick, I have very nice tanned legs thankyou :D
