When on the driving range, the golf is great - get on the course, and I'm full of swing thoughts, fears of duffing shots etc. Anyone got any good advice? Cheers! Nick

Absolutely not having a go, but the sooner you realise that it doesn't really matter, the better you will play.@therod, Cheltnamhacker. I appreciate your comments. For me, i am very relaxed on the range, even placing myself under 'pressure'. But when playing, I tend to take say a 5 iron of the tee, which I know can hit very well and straight, instead of my driver or even my 3 wood as I am nervous of it going wrong, resulting in an 7,8,9 or no Stableford points. Hence me asking for any tips of playing through that "What if it goes wrong?" fear. Cheers

I'm always slightly puzzled by these threads. Not being critical but fearful of what?
No handicap golfer should need sports psychology surely. If they do, they really need some perspective![]()
