Playing with only 5 clubs

I played in a 5 club Texas Scramble last weekend. Before playing, I decided on

3 Wood
7 Iron
9 iron
52deg wedge
Putter

There was a bit of a distance gap from 3 wood to 7 iron and I found myself having to hit several 75% shots with a three wood. I also found the lack of a driver difficult as it was very windy and a 3 wood off the tee into the wind is not a good combination.

We are going to play some bounce games (not texas scrambles, play your own ball) using only 5 clubs in the Autumn and I reckon that the optimal bag would contain:

Driver
Rescue club
7 iron
Wedge
Putter.

So, which 5 clubs would you take and why ???

driver 6,9,pw,putter.

Prob best combo for me would be a big gap between driver and 6 by don't think it would be a great problem!

Depends upon the course & the clubs needed for parr3 holes, but a general setup would be 3metal, 5iron 7iron Pitching wedge & putter, which could be altered to 3m(or5m),6i,8i,56',Pt.

I'd probably have gone 3 wood, 5 iron, 8 iron, PW and putter

4 clubs is an easier choice - 4i, 7i, pw and putter

maybe driver, 5i, 7i, pw and putter

When I play this way I take-
3W (230yards)
3I rescue (210yards)
7I (170 yards)
PW (130 yards)
Putter. (????yards)

If you play using this you can get most GIR's in good weather.
Distances are measured in good summer conditions.

21° hybrid, 6 iron, 9 iron, SW, putter. Should cover it. Can't see the need for driver, and the hybrid is way more versatile than a fairway wood. Defo need to be able to pitch around the greens, and get out of bunkers.

That should do it. Perhaps all my evening games next year should be limited to 5 clubs. A lot less to carry as well.

Interesting, it depends a lot on the course, but I am thinking;

2 iron
5 iron
7 iron
52* Wedge
Putter

Depending if I hit a draw or fade I can effectively hit 1 club shorter or longer, so that gives me overlap down to equivalent of 9 iron. From that distance in I'd just have to get creative with the over clubs, bump and runs if possible etc.

Now the idea is in my head I might go play a practice round like this just for fun.

I Would Use:

Driver
3 Iron
7 Iron
Pitching Wedge
Putter

I ought to play like this most of the times i play, thats where am going wrong i think lol
