I'm playing royal north devon on Thursday (on my billy but open to offers to join me) as I'm on holiday down here this week. Has anybody played it and if you have how did you find it. Went for a walk over there with the dog and missus yesterday and it looked really flat, until the dog ran off chasing the sheep around a hill. Proper Fenton moment. The greens look slick and immaculate.

It's pretty good. 3-8 (Cape bunker onwards?) is as good as any stretch of links holes I've played.

It loses its way a bit on the back 9 for me...but that's only in comparison to places like saunton and rcp. It's really playable and scoreable.

I enjoyed it when I played it both times...don't mention Richarts name. He managed to upset the same member on 2 separate trips

Great course, have a good round.
cheers

how much is it a round there?
It's £60 and £40 after 4pm I think

Is Cape bunker that ridiculous over sized bunker with the big arrow on it. It's massive.

hahahaha what's the members name I will go for the hat trick in upsetting the member and when I leave I will tell him richart sent me :)

That's the one, it's not really in play, but it's a great hole. The par 4, 2 holes after that is my favourite. It's plays right next to the sea.

I'm not sure of the fellas name, but he had a really offensive, green jumper on:o

Not sure if that info narrows it down to what member it is :D There was a lot of green going on before.

Hope the weathers good for you as its a brute in the wind.

I have played it in the wind and hated it and said I would not play it again, however am playing there in August with Liverpoolphil in a pairs comp so I better buck up.

Cheers, I reckon it's going to be howling a gale. At least skins waterproof. If I play pants then I reckon I will hate it if I break 100 I will love it. :)

I live 10 mins from there and at the moment no rain forecast for that day. All the trouble is at the front and trying to run in low normally ends up with the ball in a deep bunker.

Would have looked at hooking up but playing at Libbaton that day.

argghhhhh gutted. Hopefully the weather will stay like that. Cheers for the tip hopefully I can get a round in with a member (hopefully one wearing a green jumper)

I played it once when on holiday, the day I phoned up they had a medal on but the Pro said I could hook up with a members 2-ball and play in the comp, which was nice.

Really enjoyed it, and take time to have a look round the clubhouse too.
There's a nice short par 3 course as well for a warm up.
