Played in a 4 man team event today and 3 of the team , not ours, played from the 11th rather than the 9th. The other person played the correct tee and had a 4 for 3. The other 3 then went to play the 9th without the 2 shot penalty which I think is correct.

One had a 5 for 2(in reality 7 for 0) I think.

They therefore signed for 5 points on the hole when it should have been 3. They therefore signed for a wrong card and should have been disqualified in my opinion.

Please confirm that this is correct and if this is correct where is the relevant rule please?

Can you clarify the format? My brain isn't coping!

The applicable rule for playing from outside of the teeing ground is 11-4. It's a 2 stroke penalty and you must put right the mistake by playing from the correct place.

11-4b - 2 shot penalty - correct to replay from correct tee and shots from wrong tee don't count.
6-6d - DQ and 31-7 confirms that the side is DQ for an incorrect score under 6-6d by one player.

Sorry, my mistake. it was a 4 man team event 2 scores to count. Stableford
I therefore thought they had signed for a wrong score for a hole Rule 6-6 d, wrong score for a hole and should be disqualified

Really appreciated guys. The other Group were from our Club and we had a wager on which team had the better score. They won but we should get our money back tomorrow!

Thanks once again
