As above, I am playing one of the UK's best parkland courses. I havent played it in around 8 years and back then I was a qualifier for the regional part of the Ford Home Internationals and loved every second of it even when I blew my chances towards the end of the round.
Its not a massivly long course off the normal tees but only 2 par 4's are under 400 yards.
I played poorly yesterday at my home course, hit some good drives but poor putting killed the round. Belvoir (pronounced beaver) requires straight drives and while the fairways look wide (rough is short and thick and hard to get good contact with the ball) and the greens look flat are really very subtle. On the greens a straight looking 10 feet putt could still turn 6 inches and confuse the hell out of you but they are very smooth and cant wait.
If I get anywhere near my handicap tomorrow Ill be a very happy camper.

For anyone visiting Belfast any time soon, this has to be on your list of courses to play along with Templepatrick, Royal Belfast, Malone and a few others (including my home course Bangor GC)

Guys from work were in Belfast last weekend and played Malone,Belvoir Park and Royal Belfast they said all 3 were in superb condition but Belvoir was there favourite, they were very disappointed about Royal Belfast all though the course was good they were treated like second class citizens not a good advert really

Jut home, Belvoir was in fantastic condition with the sun beating down on us. Driving wasnt great and thinned 4 shots and posted a rubbish score but the course kept it enjoyable.
Ian, Malone is another great club, the Senior Irish Open was held there a fair amount of times too.
Royal Belfast do have a reputation for not being overly friendly to visitors, I guess because the members are practically all rich guys who I reckon would rather pay an extra levy than have societies.

Never played it, I have heard its a good track, maybe get to give it look in the near future though :)
I would rather play the strand than Portrush, still a great course but not as many tossers imo.
Never played Malone either, guess there are many great track in NI to have a look at!! ;)
