I'm playing at Worplesdon on Friday - what should I expect? Anyone got any tips / advice?

I assume it's a classic heathland, with tight fairways lined with heather and trees- accuracy off the tee being crucial.

I'm just going to enjoy the experience, even if the course does end up getting the better of me!

It is very nice indeed.

No tips apart from enjoy it and bring a jacket and tie if you want to sample their excellent lunch.

Not 100% sure but is it a 2ball/4somes course?

I don't know the answer to that, but we're playing as a 4.

I'm really looking forward to it, but a bit nervous too! My game has been mixed to say the least of late, but improving following a few lessons.

I played at New Zealand GC last year, I thought that was lovely so very interested to see how a GM Top 100 course compares.

Good tip!

I'll be travelling from Kent so braving rush hour M25 madness. Anyone know whether I'm better off going A3 south to Guildford and back up from there, or A3 north initially and round through West Byfleet and Woking? Or some other route?

Never mind the A3, you want to worry about getting through junctions 5&6 with all the roadworks! I would suggest that you are getting to junction 4 no later than 6.30am, as any later than that and it's carnage. Good luck and enjoy the course; I'm sure you'll have a great round.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be joining at junction 5 (A21) and my tee time is 10:15. Was planning to set off at about 8am - googlemaps thinks the journey will take 1 hour, so I was allowing about 30 mins for traffic delays.

As I live in Tonbridge, I do have the option of going cross country initially, towards Edenbridge and then joining the M25 at Godstone. Any benefit in that do you think?

I played it recently and didn't find it too tight at all compared to some but really (and I mean really:D) struggled with the greens; both their tiers and subtle breaks.

Yep, absolutely. Also, traffic can be really heavy... suggest you check the roads each day til Thursday, which will give you an idea. To be honest, I'd leave around 7. If you get there early, then bite to eat, range, etc. If you get there late, then ...
