Even we had good weather today....folks commented on me out in my shirt sleeves....wanted to dress light to play a "test" 9 before my match tomorrow....went well....4 pars, 5 bogeys....keep that going and 10 sounds possible.

Glad to see the yellows turning green, and grass growing on the fairways.....nice....

What a day! Shame I played like a spanner.

I went to the same par 3 course as I did yesterday, however the outcome was totally different. I could not hit a green for love or money, I didn’t even get a single par! All I got was bogey or the dreaded double bogeys. Not good.

I have booked a lesson in for tomorrow afternoon, I changed my swing last week so that’s the reason behind just playing par 3`s and also to sharpen up my short game.

One of the positives was that I bought a new Titleist pencil bag, and wow am I impressed they are so much easier then lugging my big ugly Wilson bag about.

I finished early with the intention of getting to the practice ground for a good session honing my swing changes. When I got to the club there were loads of juniors out just hitting balls aimlessly and a tractor trying to cut the grass.

Gave it a wide bearth and went to my local range (I know what we've said about hitting off mats !!!). The seeds of recovery are definitely growing and for about 30 minutes I was bang on. The swing was great. Nice and compact 3/4 swing not trying to smack it. Timing was good and they were really flying.

Sadly I had to answer the call of nature and after that I was crap. Out of synch and trying too hard to recapture the moment. Back to the grass tomorrow. If the kids are there they will get a swift lesson on practice ground ettiquette

I bought a pencil bag about a month ago and agree. Now if you could just get a pencil bag with lightweight stand legs :D

I'm after a lightweight bag (not pencil style tho') for my minimalist set with built-in pop-out legs. Every one I've looked at has the izzo (tm) straps. Now is it just me, or are these dual straps a nightmare......can't work 'em out at all. Whats so wrong with a comfy padded single strap?.....ok, dual makes sense for lugging around 14 clubs and the kitchen sink, but mostly, I can make do with 10 clubs.

Played today with D, 3w, 3h, 5/7/9/PW/SW putter.....makes no difference.....

Dave

What was the bag Jezz used with us. That was only a lightweight one with legs and I'm pretty sure that was a single strap

Yup, I spotted that too.....nice bit of kit, with a special ergonomic handle.....quick, I've only got about 10 hours to track it down or make do with M&S shirts for my birthday.

OOh, slinky.....I'm not sure a tick would suit my game, I'm more of a "blob" when things are not going well!!!!
