And lost 8 golf balls!!!

Developed a killer slice with my driver (and also 3 wood and rescue club).

Don't know if it's related to a swing change I did after Monday's lesson, I've only been hitting irons all week.

One thing that has struck me is how messed up my tempo gets when I'm on the course. Swinging like Ernie at the range,
swing like the Tasmanian Devil on the course. Anyone got any tempo tips? I'd love to hear them!!

Course was superb, greens were excellent.

Can see why it's an Open qualifying course, it's not particularly long but it's a thinking man's course, which rules me out!!

Highly recommended! £99 for a fourball over the winter.

Take more club for the shot, 99% of men think they'll hit their best yardage on every shot, they won't. More club will make you relax and swing with a better tempo as you wont feel you need to whack it.
Other tip would be to make takeaway and backswing painfully slow - as you're a little anxious and keyed up on the course naturally, it won't actually be as slow as you think but will help your rhythm.

Thanks Birdieman, tried that though, I always take an extra club especially at a strange course. I'll try slowing the takeaway down. I think it's slow just now, but it probably isn't.
Think a brain transplant maybe the best option!

Try humming a note throuhout your swing without changing notes, it will keep you flowing nice and smooth with no jerks.

Sorry about my spealing my spell checker has gone AWOL.

Yip, I've tried the humming thing, too, htl, and it works, especially on chips and pitches.

A friend of mine swings so quickly it's a blur. When he slows down he's fine. I always tell him to swing back saying" Severiano" and swing forward on "Ballesteros". Unfortunately, he usually goes "Seve Ball"

Oops !

Sorry, mate.

Good course, though, eh?

Great course, normally when I play crap I reflect negatively on the course (human nature I suppose), but Scotscraig is excellent. Definitely going to go back for another game before winter is out.

One of the best tips I got for tempo is to turn the club upside down and swing holding the shaft at the head end. Swing and listen for the "swooooooosh". Do this a few times before hitting your shot and you will be amazed at the difference in your tempo.

I find this works very well under pressure.

Also Scotscraig is awesome.
