Sutton Bridge, its a little gem.
The course was built on what was originally a dock and whoever had the imagination to create this course deserves huge credit.

All 9 holes require concentration and good golf, its a course, very pleasing to the eye, cleverly designed if a little querky to some, well cared for, lovely fairways and receptive greens and is not for the wayward or faint hearted.

Google earth gives you little idea of this courses design, it has undulating fairways, lots of hazards, established trees galore, part of the dock walls remain creating elevations of tees, greens and tricky clearances from tee to fairway.

I loved it, I always tend to play better golf on more difficult courses and had a cracking round in match play today, it was a tough match, I won 8 holes today, my partner halved some but we only finished 2 and 1, it was a scrap all the way. I nailed 2 birdies back to back on par 4s 334yds and 439yds had another birdie to win on one of those second time round, only had one messed up hole. Sank a 30foot putt a 20 footer and 15 footer all 3 when I had 2 putts to win the hole and didnt need them :D I also hit a 64* wedge (dont normally have one with me) and spun it back to withing 2 inches from a poor lie at the back of a green.

Match face on today, big packet of concentration in the wind and a series of long superb drives(if they weren't good your in bother with long ones at this course). Only a shame the team lost, we only came away with 1 1/2 for the team.

A fantastic day, cracking course and a win away from home is always pleasing :D

If you ever get the chance, this little peach is worth visiting. ;)
