Played in the usual Sat morning Stapleford competition-as i was leaving the club i was asked if i would play in the trials for the interclub mixed foursomes(to make up the numbers) as one of the men had to cry off due to a family berevement.
Had the most enjoyable 18 holes in a long time-the golf was not sparkling(the ladies were playing off 33&35)
You end up playing from yardages you would not normally be used to.

Both me and Mrs Upsidedown are big fans of mixed foursomes too and hope to get soem Kiwi action in over our coming winter, great way to meet new folks for us

I dont get it, did you enjoy it or not as you say you had a great 18 but you post icon is a mad face?

I have to agree, I played alot of mixed last year and realy enjoyed it. Hopefully more of the same this year. As for the yardages sometimes they come in handy whenever we just dont get it right!

We call it "mixed gruesomes".

Never an issue getting names tho, purely because it is such great fun.

Boys, there is no need to be precious get out ther and try to beat them off their handicaps.

You have no idea how competitive it can be.

Personally, I don't like foursomes at all. When I took up golf 39 years ago I was put off mixed foursomes by the thought of playing with some of the lady members. They were all ''buxom'', broad across the beam, had purple hair and wore brogues. Now I'm coming round to the idea of mixed foursomes in Spain. The ladies are a delight to see on the tee. BTW, I've never seen a lady golfer throw her club or lose her temper on the course.

Another thing i have NEVER seen a lady golfer do, is duff a shot! They just never do!

And I've NEVER seen a lady golfer jump behind a bush to take a leak. I was told they have stronger bladders than us chaps.

Thats good then, i guessed you did from the post but the icon confuesed me, not hard though!

Not played with my sister in law then :( she and my brother regularly throw , stamp, swear and infact generally unpleasant to play with when it's not going their way, fine when playing ok but Boy look out when it goes pear shaped
