**Trumpet Blowing Alert!**

After playing yesterday and equalling my pb of 86 (including 3 triple bogeys) the pressure was on as it was our first big Medal of the season today. It went far better than expected!

Out in 40 (+5) and back in 43 (+8) giving me a gross 83! That's 3 shots better than my previous best and as I posted yesterday, I had set myself the goal of tickling the low 80's this year. Mission accomplished.

I was 2nd in my division with a nett 63 when I left the club, with CSS standing at 69, so if things stay the same I should be getting a 1.8 cut to 17.9. Fingers crossed!

Everything seemed to be solid and I thankfully managed to stay out of the sand after yesterday's debacle!

To say I am over the moon and buzzing is an understatement! :D

That's great going.

Just think. If you'd have been selected they could have chalked you up as a winner and saved themselves the cost and time of all the gear and lessons

Thanks for the comments guys. Still pinching myself! Just hope I haven't peaked to soon.

Gary, had I been picked I think I would've been too excited to play in today's comp! It seems to have focussed me though as I could feel my head starting to ache from concentrating so much on each shot. That and the heat! :)

Well played that man!

Can't believe you were only 2nd in your division with 6 under CSS! Good conditions for scoring?

Conditions were pretty much perfect. Very warm with only a light breeze, though some of the pin positions were tricky. As for coming 2nd with a nett 63, I've been runner up with a nett 60 before! I seem to coincide my best scores with other peoples! No complaints though, as the cut is more than enough to make me happy!

Fair play. Must say winning doesn't really motivate me, more the cut in my own handicap and satisfaction at playing well :)

That handicap will be getting slashed early on this season :)

I'm exactly the same. A win / placing is a bonus - it's the handicap cuts that give me the most satisfaction. Just checked and results are now up. 2nd place and a shiny new handicap of 17.9. Wooohoo! :D
