Piq golf

Nope.

Seems to position itself primarily as a glove based rangefinder with the additional functionality of shot tracking and its own idea of swing analysis.

It also fails on the fact that it does not appear to have a web portal where you can upload your rounds and get detailed analysis of miss characteristics, proximity of approach shots to hole, club yardage and gaps... all the actual useful stuff that such gizmos can deliver. Instead it gives you a meaningless PIQ rating based on some idealised standard of the golf swing. I don't need a device to give me this....I will have a number at the bottom of my card that gives me the only rating I ever need.

Still requires you to tag your club before each shot.

Wonder how it tracks putts and those touch wedge shots around the green....I take my glove off to play those sort of shots?

Mobile only apps are of limited use due to their screen size...theres no easy way to edit a round post round if say you've forgotten to tag a shot on a 5" mobile screen. Also the device requires the mobile phone in close proximity to be able to use the GPS functionality to give you yardage. I personally dont want a lump of a mobile phone in my pocket whilst I'm playing.

I'm not a lover of Game Golf by the way....I used it for maybe 10 rounds and found it tagging process totally intrusive to my game.

Arccos Golf is much better in terms of its analytics but still requires a mobile in close proximity to provide the GPS positioning info... but does have the advantage of you not having to tag each shot. Give me the Arccos system, with the Game Golf belt sensor (which has its own built in GPS so no need for a mobile) and I'll buy it in an instant.... oh yeah... needs Android support.

I have nothing to do with Arccos golf.

I am also thinking about the PIQ as you can use it for practice games on the course for swing analysis and shot tracking and simple GPS. Not sure about their claim about 3D playback which would be really useful but only seen a vague 3/4 on picture in the App blurb. No mention of rear viewpoint or front on viewpoint for example. Zepp is another option. Also bit worried that some users complain of bluetooth drop out during a round & suspect that maybe it is tested to a small number of phones & the App is Mobitee possibly outside their direct control. Still thinking!

Anybody out there using PIQ & what phone do you use with it?

Firstly, I wouldn't want something attached to my glove.

What happens when you take your glove off.... does it fall off?

What if you chip without a glove?

Seems a lot more hassle than it's worth, I'd give it a 1/10 in terms of wanting one.
