Played my first competition of the year yesterday 82 less 9 h/cap up 0.1. Physio gave me the all clear to play if there was no pain during swing :). Still a little pain doing other things but the swing is okay. Another week like this and would maybe have been okay for Castle Stuart GUTTED :(

Played quite well but Ping Rapture was misbehaving badly (Which it has been pretty much since I got it in January).

Did a little practicing on Saturday night, short game, iron play then took out the two big sticks G10 & Rapture and hit a dozen shots. G10 never put a foot wrong, Rapture bit my ass again.

Played today and scored 47 points in our early morning sweep. 67 scratch (3 under) again G10 never put a foot wrong one bad shot into the rough, but I was aiming there expecting the fade/cut I have been getting from the Rapture.

Moral of story- If it aint broke don't try and fix it.

One Ping Rapture taking early retirement. In fact I may sneak up behind it put a bag over its head, give it a pair of concrete boots and leave it swimming with the fishes. No i'm not bitter about yesterdays score, but that Rapture has lost the last one of my golf balls.

I think the kindest thing to do might be to send it to a golfing retirement home otherwise known as the For Sale forum and see if someone can give it some love in its twilight years
I never thought about that, I was too obsessed about giving a long slow painful death.

A bad workman and all that!
Get to the range next week (give yourself a while still to recover) and start again with it, easy swings and build it up to see where you and it are going wrong.

I would keep it,maybe go back to it in a couple of weeks,or hit the range and get used to it.

Hell no Brendy!!!!!!!!

The G10 was working well before and is working well now. I just went in search of a few more yards and to be honest I don't really need the distance. I will maybe look again another time but I think I will wait until I go to Ping at Gainsborough later in the year. Then I can get the right shaft and swing weight and also see if there is anymore distance there or if the G10 is giving all I need. I may even keep the Rapture and get it re shafted although I think that boat may have sailed.

When you walk into the room and it goes quiet it's because your mates were talking about you behind your back - guess what they were saying.....? :p

What a talented golfer he could probably score even more points if he wanted to. Hope he stays in our sweep.
