Just been reading with great interest about the Golf Monthly/Ping fitting day at Forest of Arden, and i noticed that Ping actually used their putter app when fitting the guys.

I am interested to know about people experiences with it? is it any good?

I think it is really good, it is based on consistency but seems very accurate.

Pros:
+ measures consistency of your stroke and gives you a putting handicap, so you have something tangible to improve.
+ it tells you if you are leaving the face open or (in my case) closing it through impact, again something tangible to work on in practice
+ it tells you what arc you have, so you can get an appropriate putter.

Cons:
- price of the cradle.
- putter feels a bit weird (heavy) with it attached.

I think it would be a handy tool to check up on your stroke but you would not practice with it all the time because of the weight.
If the cradle was around a tenner or less I'd buy one. At full price, I haven't bought one yet..

As I have put in my review I think it is very useful.
I didn't know I hit putts with a closed face but it explains a lot - I often miss shorter putts on the left and have been heard to ask playing partners how it is possible to hook a putt.
I imagine it could be useful as a training/teaching aid, and of course for CF it is very useful.
I don't own any fancy tech like Iphones so won't be getting one myself however.
