ping i15/g15 compared to rapture v2

hi everyone,

basically i've dented the face of my beloved rapture v2 driver on sat, and found that its about 3 months out of warranty.

the guys at ping have offered to replace it as it looks like a fault with the club, even though its out of warranty so i can hardly complain

now the kicker, they apparently no longer stock the v2 and so can exchange it for an i15 or G15. my rapture was a 10.5* with x stiff shaft that i pretty much nailed with a slight draw and average carry circa 270ish.

i'll be heading to a local course to give the i15 and g15 a try. but has anyone else used a rapture v2 and how did it compare to the i/g 15.

Swapped my Rapture V2 for the G15, biggest mistake I ever did make!

i would go for the i15 myself. tried my mates one with the ust stiff shaft 9.5 degree and could not believe how good the feel of the ball off the face of the club was and how good the flight was, easily the best of the ping drivers ive ever tried

Get the most expensive sell it and buy another V2 off ebay going for about 120 pounds.

I bought the G15 when it first came out and had high hopes for it as I had been hitting my then G10 really well. Tried the 15 for about 2 months but just couldn't get on with it. As Murph pointed out when he saw it, the head seemed to sit slightly closed and this caused me to either pull everything left or hook it. If I tried to stop myself I would then hit massive great blocks right!
Swapped out to the i15 and love it. Head sits nice and "neutral" and I generally hit it nice and straight or with a slight draw.
Haven't hit a Rapture V2 so can't compare.

cheers all,

tried them both at the range, couldnt get any consistence with I15, but G seemed to hit spot on. they've leant me a demo G15 to try on the course and see how i got on. tried it today and seemed to be hitting it as far as my v2 if not further, only prob i've found is when i givee it some welly it seems head to the moon.

by chance picked up another v2 for £30, so going to give them both ago one day this week side by side.
