Anyone tried this yet?

Have not seen much on here about this yet, having read a few reviews this is being rated very highly even beating the much coveted SLDR and being rated the longest and straightest driver on the market why so quiet?

Is this just that Ping are rated by some as old mans clubs and people are reluctant to try them.

Have tried it out

Shorter , more spin and a wider dispersion than I get with my SLDR

I have one. Really happy with it. Have gained distance over my Titleist 910 driver and is very forgiving.

It looks really good too. Everyone comments on how good it looks and they all have a go with it.

Try one I doubt you will be disappointed. My club sells them for £225 so good value for money!

Rick Sheilds has just done a i25 / g30 test on his YT channel, concluson was good, but not a major step fwd.

(I think MC came to similar conclusion on his channel, but can't remember if it was the G30 he was on about, main point was than if you are changing from a 5 yr old product, there will be gains, but from one model to the next, quality of strike was a way bigger factor than the small incremental improvement in club tech)

Spent the weekend with one last week, played two rounds with it. Notable on a few of holes. On Saturday (not wanting to get into a forum yardage "debate"), on one 386 yd par 4 I only had 80 yds to the pin from the drive. Did have a bit of wind helping a little, I also managed another 3 drives around the 260 - 280. These distances are based on my rangefinder distance to the pin from the drive. I also hit 2 or 3 slashes out to the right, and unfortunately, they went big right in the same way they went big straight.........

on the Sunday I didn't swing it as well as the day before, which is not saying much at the moment since I have developed a huge overswing and am playing rotten golf. Having said that, I came in one under handicap and still hit a good 7 drives with it. I'd say that overall, when I hit it properly, it was a few yards longer than my G15, and the few times I flushed it were as good if not better than anything I've hit before.

I like the look of it, I love the sound of it, one thing I did notice was that balls seemed to roll out further than they do with my G15. I have a spot for it in my bag and a savings fund set aside as I'll be looking to get one when I can.

Hi,

I have got one, changed from a SLDR after my SLDR had to go back to tailormade for a minor repair that took 4 weeks. Whilst waiting I tried a G30, and loved it. On my second round with the G30, I hit 13/14 fairways, and the miss was on the first with a 3 wood :-)

I would say that it is more forgiving than the SLDR, but prob a bit shorter. My SLDR has come back now, and is on ebay. I did have GraphiteDesign shaft in the SLDR, and yesterday the tip was changed on this shaft, so I will be using my G30 with a Graphitedesign shaft in a day or two :-) That may get the G30 back up to the length of the SLDR. If not, then the shaft will also be on ebay :-)

Cheers
Ian

quite liked it- really dont like the turbulators (you have to say that in movie voice over mode).

it was just ok, nothing better than any driver in the last 10 yrs imo, however, it might suit you more and certainly lofting up is key as loft is your friend.

I've just gone from 30 years of 8.5* or 9* drivers to 11.5* and enjoying driving again
