Ping G25 IRONS

Hi just after some feedback on the people who have been fit for these irons.

I tried a demo 7 iron today, felt nice enough but wow how high do they go. I lost around 10 yards per club but think I gained around 20 feet in height minimum. Have those who have been fitted noticed that they have had to go for stiffer shafts than normal to retain distance they had in previous clubs?

So are my Cobra S2's but should there be as much as 30feet difference in height between 2 seven irons, swung as close to identical as I can.


Also are they designed to shoot less distance than other clubs as I cant see that being a great selling point

The right shaft for you should turn that hight into carry and add length rather than rob you of it.

I hadn't been fitted before, so can't comment on the shaft option, although mine are stiff!!

The ball flight for me now is high but am carrying it further..... The extra height means not as much roll but ball lands softer......

Not that I am the expert!!!

The ping 7 iron is a degree weaker. might explain some of the "loss" of distance.

I'd bet the Ping isn't 30 feet higher at all, rather it reaches it's height quicker which makes it appear as if it goes a lot higher overall.

Was demoing one for a while and didn't notice much height change but defo a club longer than my i15's and a very soild club.

Had a full fit and gained 7 yards over my old clubs. Wish I'd made the change earlier. Forgiving, good flight and easy to hit. Just need to warm the putter up and the old Anser getting run out Weds. The thing about a fitting is getting a shaft along with the lie angle that works for you to improve distance and dispersion
