Hi All,
I have recently (5 minutes ago) joined the forum, having been browsing it for a while. I have returned to the game after a 3 year hiatus due to a lack of time (work) and money (divorce).
I have gone out and purchased a new set of irons: Taylormade R9's, SW: Vokey, Driver: Callaway Diablo Octane Black, Putter: Taylormade Marinello (sp?). When this was coupled with new bag, balls, gloves etc it totaled over £500 which gave my new partner a heart attack as I had popped out to buy an 'old set of clubs' and she had no idea the expense of golf!!! I did argue that if I had purchased newly released irons and woods it would have been well over £1,000.
What she doesn't know is that I still need a 5 wood and a 58 degree wedge. I think realistically my only option here is secondhand, as otherwise I would be really pushing my luck. I am looking on Golfbidder and like the look of the Ping G20 and the Cobra S3 5. When I stopped playing my handicap was 13, so I expect to be playing somewhere around 18-20. I need something forgiving and easy to hit off the deck. Do any kind forum members have any thoughts on these woods, or others I should consider? I think I am sorted with the wedge as I have always loved Vokeys.
Many Thanks
Aidan
