Ping fitting?

Can anyone recommend a good ping fitting centre in the North West?....im based in Haydock.

Clarkes in Rainford have everything, including Ping. Nice guys in there as well. You are also hitting on to a range, not a screen, which I find preferable. Tru fit golf by fiddles ferry in Widnes is only 20 minutes from you and they are good as well, but they also charge you for the fitting and you don't get it back, where Clarkes, if you buy the clubs, subtract it from the cost.
If you want to go further a field, clubhouse golf in Manchester and the big AG at the Trafford centre are also a shortish drive.
Failing that, if you give our pro a ring at Lymm, he has all the fitting cart and gear as well and will price match anybody....

Full fitting cart at my place, Manchester Golf Club.

Indoor trackman etc. and outdoor driving range where you can hit off grass and mats.

Thanks fellas for replies really appreciate it:thup:

Know the guys at Clarkes and got fitted for last set of clubs cpl yrs ago and ended up coming away with TM Rocketbladz which afterwards felt like they where sort of pushing me to TM range and know few others who felt the same so just thought id like to try somewhere that deals with ping more rather than a large selection of makes.

For the amount of cash you're going to be spending why not go to Gainsborough?
You could make a day of it & play one of the courses aswell.

That's good advice. If you definitely want Ping best to get their experts to do it.

They also have travelling club fitters who visit ranges and clubs.

remember that ping are releasing their new i200 early spring so there's always deals to be had about then

Interested to read about Pings policy with retailers. I am at the home of Ping in Phoenix, AZ and the many used golf equipment stores in here always have loads of Ping irons and putters available used. Most of these iron sets (if you find one with the shafts you need) can be sent to Ping or you can drop them off yourself for adjustments.

Not sure if that is the case in the UK or not (or if there is much of a used club market there) but if there is it is a great way to get into a set of Pings. I had my old Eye2's adjusted one color code, they also buffed them up and re-did the paintfill for $4.50 per club. Could be a way forward.

I would probably go to clubhouse golf in Manchester or tru fit in Warrington/Widnes then.

I thought it was illegal in Europe for manufacturers to prevent retailers discounting items to whatever price they want?

No idea about the legality and don't think it's restricted to Ping. I thought Motocaddy were another who didn't offer the retailers and opportunity to off their trolley at hugely discounted prices.

It is not a case of Ping not allowing it.

More a case of the margins not being there and the amount of stock held not requiring huge discounts. The inventory is better controlled by Ping than by the likes of Taylormade.

Ping DO NOT allow retailers to significantly reduce the price of current models as soon as a new range is released.

id say £85 per club to £65 per club is a significant drop on the ie range already. new range isn't even released yet. thats about 25%

Just a thought.... if you want to push the boat out... try tour x golf in Wigan.... they stock ping and you won't get a better fitting anywhere else in the North West....

Just out of interest where are they retailing for £65 per club? I only ask as I would like to add the U wedge to my set and was going to order one tomorrow.
