hi guys
this is my first post so go easy on me.I'm lookin for some sound advice i've been playing golf for 10 years now playing with mizuno t-zoids irons for about 7 of that.I've been given ping eye 2 set of clubs for nothing with a regrooved certificate but cant seem to play with them, the clubs have a black dot(standard) and ping web site said i'm a purple dot with aqua grip???
My question is can I get these clubs altered to my swing plane and if so would it be costly i.e. would I be better off buying a new set of clubs.

p.s. I'm playing off 10.7
just thought a change could get me lower.
thanks in advance chaps ;)

yes it can be done. You'll need to get quotes for the re-gripping and lie adjustment. Much cheaper than buying a comparable set of new clubs IMHO.

Any pro could easily do the work. The cost? depends on where you go....I had a set years ago that my course pro did for £45 with grips. If it was £6 per club, I'd say it was worth it because the grip cost is something we all have to accept sooner or later. Were your T-zoids custom fit? if not, I'm surprised you are struggling, you'd be swapping a standard club for another standard club. Ping eye2 are classic and should be better than the zoids i.m.o.
Even if you end up using up time and spending up to £100 it's got to be worth it.

Either or you could take the advice M offers above.

Time, budget and patience will no doubt play a hand in all three in different measures.

Ping have a fitting centre in Gainsborough - just google it

Selected driving ranges will have a pro shop that'll help (suggest you find one that's a Ping Authorised reseller- not vital though)- that'll be google again then

American golf/ Nevada Bobs as per their respective websites...er - there's always google?

All easy information that'll take five minutes to find and get together

Good luck

Yes you can a mate of mine had a set and they all have serial numbers on the hosel you can phone up ping and they will tell you the history of the club, it like a car reg, if you find a local ping demo day they will change them there for you F.O.C. our you can go down gainsborough i think headquarters and get them done and im sure it doesnt cost.

Have the loft's checked out i'm sure that these irons had more traditional lofts eg the PW is 50 degree's so this could be why you can't play with them?

I thought one of the advantages of ping was that they would adjust them for free. That said, I have never owned any, as I don't like ping. May be that's why you can't play with them?

I would stick with the t zoids. They were a decent club back in the day. I can't see why your h/cap would come down just through changing irons. I have changed 4 times, and never affected my h/cap. Irons are irons at the end of the day.

If you can't hit them, and you play off ten, they are not the ones for you.

Hi lads went to american golf and had my swing analysised with ping i2 clubs, seems my size height and all that is standard black dot clubs!!!!!!!! Its the old grips that r on them with is cause inconsistancy so getting them re-gripped at alot cheaper than i thought about £18. went 4 the cheaper £2 a grip to £7 ping ones. One thing we noticed was the difference in distance 6 iron ping i2 150yds carry to my mizuno 6 iron 165yds carry. The pro said its more likely to b lofy angles. Can any1 clarify this.
P.S. thanks 4 all your help.

thanks doh for clarify this, i'll have to choose between distance or quality. Its only one club distance wise but don't know if it will affect overall score at the end of the round.I think the 410yd-440yds will push to limits. Just need 2 try new driver and get extra 15yds(lol)
