I bought G15 irons off the shelf, black dot.

Have been looking for a A wedge (gap wedge) for the set but have really struggled to source one.

I have found a guy who will sell me one for £40 but it's red dot (0.75 degree flat).

I know next to nothing about club fitting, flat clubs, upright clubs etc- should I avoid this purchase or will it make very little difference?

If you bought black dot of the shelf without fitting then the red dot might actually be better for you.

As its only the next colour up and your struggling to source the same I would go for it. If you find you need it altering it can be adjusted up or down 1 dot fairly easily I believe.

If you want it black dot.

Buy the club as is (Red dot) contact Ping at Gainsborough and arrange to send the club back to them for adjustment.

They will adjust it to black dot. Amend the clubs spec sheet to show what adjustment have been made and will do all that for the grand sum of £0.00

My old boy brought a set of i15's and drove to Gainsborough to have them adjusted to his playing colour (white)

You will have to pay postage and probably cover return postage but this is a service that is well worth the money.

Contact Ping and see what's involved
