Ping anser is on my short list, it pretty much is my short list, to replace my g20 that I hit into orbit pretty much.
Got excellent results with the anser 9.5 and xstiff ahina shaft at a recent fitting.
The only nagging doubt is that I had very similar results with the same shaft in a G25 head.
I can't help think the g25 will be more forgiving on bad shots. BUt it is a £114 up charge to get the shaft in this head, and the anser comes with it included for only £40 more than the G25.

I struggle with too much spin, which also points me to the anser.

Any experiences of either club?
Particularly interested on forgiveness of the anser?

Also if anyone has an anser ahina xstiff shaft knocking about and willing to part with PM me!

Thanks
Stu

you must have one hell of a golf swing to be a x stiff in an ahina. even sergio said it was too much of a shaft for him. its just as forgiving as a g25 mate just a little lower ball flight. i would deffo get a second opinion on the flex in that ahina though. i was fitted for an ''ahina stiff'' in my anser with a swing speed of 107 to 111. i tried the x stiff for a laugh and couldn't get it above head height

I will echo this. Tried the anser driver with the stiff Ahina shaft, couldn't get the bleeding thing in the air. I play a X stiff in my 910 but even in stiff form its a beast of a shaft in that head.
I'd try getting a Ahina put into the g20 head. Best if both worlds

The Anser is a lower spin head than the G20. I loved my G20 but I launched it too high. I'm now using an i20 driver and love it. I wouldn't rule out the i20 until you try that as well.

The Anser is beautiful and there should be a shaft in the range to suit you. Anser drivers are also becoming cheaper second hand now so have a swatch on ebay. I can also vouch for the Anser 3 wood. Its absolutely amazing. Its even managed to knock out and keep out my faithful Ping Rapture V2 3 wood. I combined the Anser 3 wood with an Oban Devotion 7 shaft and its an absolute cannon.

Ping know how to make woods and make them well.

I was hitting on an outdoor range with srixon ad333 balls, so I could see the ball flight.
I had no trouble launching the ball with this shaft. Flightscope was saying 12deg launch with the anser head at 9.5. Trajectory was lower than my g20, more penetrating but still up there.
I'm a pretty strong guy with an aggressive swing, clubhead speed in the same ball park as hovis. Of course there is more to it than club head speed.

I agree that it may be worth while testing the stiff ahina too. They didn't have one to try. The g25 with the ahina x in it had a higher ball flight than the anser. My g20 has a tour stiff tfc shaft and it is moon balls all day, I tried the tfc tour stiff in the G25 and unsurprisingly it was almost the same as my G20.
The 'ahina shaft in both heads just felt easy, didn't feel like swinging rebar or anything.

I had a ping anser 12 degree with stiff blur shaft, now changed it to a 10.5 degree set to 10 degree with a stiff ahina, swing speed 97 mph launch angle 17 degree trap man, perfect trajectory. I must admit my old g20 was more forgiving but the anser is much longer, love it
