Couldn't take a call as I was busy. Its only a mate, so I call him back later. So I did...

..only to be told that I had a chance to play Wentworth tomorrow, but as I hadn't picked up the call, someone else is now playing

Oh well. Any similar stories?

Nope, would be hard pressed to have a worse missed call than that.

I missed a call to play for my club against the county team on sunday because I slept in.

But doesn't really compare to missing out on Wentworth, you must be well pleased:lol:

No-one 'took' the call. He rang my personal mobile but as I was on another call (landline), I rejected his call. Thing is, I almost always pick-up and say I'm busy on a call and I'll ring back; sadly not this time.

Perhaps I'll get another chance...not!

I've only played the Edinburgh and East courses but thought both were excellent. Trying to get my handicap down to 24 for my next stay in October so I can play the West as well.

ahh fair enough, I assumed you knew it was him as someone had him on the other line, don't I feel a right t1t.

He should've sent a text then saying Wentworth, tomorrow? you free? need answer within 10 mins or have to call someone else.

Unless it's a corporate day (where anything goes) max handicap on The West is 18!

West is a long slog! And expensive!

It depends which course at Wentworth you'd have been playing. No fan of the West, long and a route march for the average golfer. No fun hitting fairway woods on most holes and still being short. If it was the East or the Edinburgh then yep, I'd have been gutted too. On the flip side, best call I ever took, one from Padraig Harrington

Hope you go in the Bamboo over by Brucie's place on the 1st, the front right bunker on the 2nd, any bunker on the 3rd; The Russian Banker's palace on the 4th, heather long & left on the 5th, Eddie Jordan's place on the 6th, Ditch on the 7th, Pond (and Bunker) on the 8th and they run out of Sausaages and Bacon in the Halfway House! Not envious at all!

Have a lovely round! And stay out of any of the bunkers on 16, but especially the back left one and (absolutely especially!) don't even think about the one on 17!
