Phil Mickelson has no feel!!!

Wasnt he using a eye 2 wedge a while back to get around the groove rules?

Not sure what your point is.... You cant feel the difference so no one can?

That he can play with that old thing says nothing, he is highly skilled and can play with anything, cast or forged.

Edit: Anyone can play with anything. that he can use it does not mean it does not feel harder...

Yes my wedges still feel softer than my last set..... This has nothing to do with skill... its to do with sound.

Back in 1995, the PGA of America wanted to ban the Ping Eye 2 as they had 'box grooves'. Believe me, they would rip the back off a balata at the time. I do not think they actually did ban them because of the legal costs that might result. I.e. Ping having more dollars to throw at this than the PGA of America. Ping subsequently met half way and produced the Eye 2 with a + on the back of the head which signified it didn't have box grooves.
I think Mickelson, a couple of years ago, was just using them to prove a point (saying that they were not banned). He only used them in one comp I think. It didn't go down well with some tour pros however. Didn't Scott Mccarron call him the 'C' word?
I didn't know he was using an Eye 2 wedge now and unless it has box grooves, can't see what the advanatge of doing so would be (and I thought the new groove rules took care of box grooves).

Someone in the know re the current groove rules please enlighten me.

I have a feeling that he may have used the Eye 2 in this event last year as well when he was proving his point
