Does anyone think it would be a good idea to start a petition to ask the European Tour to force the players to warn spectators of an offline shot that could endanger someone? I'm sure if enough people really cared it could be worthwhile. I know I care deeply about this as I do think it is only a matter of time before some Pro's pride comes before someone's serious or fatal injury

It's far worse on the US tour - they don't bother with any shout - mainly I believe because they want the bounce of someone to keep the ball in play. Then walk down to the guy they hit and offer a signed glove

I am sure there is a disclaimer on tickets for the tour that if you are hit by a ball its your own fault for paying to watch the best play This needs to be removed then pro golfers will be just like us. You could then sue them if they don't shout FORE . It may be they don't shout because they want the ball to hit a spectator and stop it going in the trees etc This may be a bit cynical but its very dangerous ask anyone who has been hit ! Yes it does knocked me out once.

Despite his reputation Tiger seems to be one of the few who does shout regularly (at least when I watch - I'm sure there'll be countless videos on YouTube of him not)

Think they see the crowd as a potential bounce into the fairway!

He does, and I think it usually starts with F but it doesn't sound like Fore to me…… :o

He does, but then he has more need than most :D

Even though there is a disclaimer on the ticket once the first spectator is killed or seriously injured (god forbid it doesn't happen but surely a matter of time) then especially in the US I doubt with their litigation culture that sentence will protect anyone. Will it be the pro or the organisers at fault. It should just be done and I don't know why the other caddies don't shout it no one else does

They don't shout it so that they get a favourable bounce after a wayward drive
