good news people, it wasnt a fluke, (See post, personal best)

I arranged a 4ball with my mate (the pro) and two other lads.

We decided to play stroke play and they give me a handicap of 20 (i wanted 22 and they wanted 18, we met in the middle)

Course was a bit wet and greens were not great but i played out of my skin again.

Drove like a demon, putted like a monster, short play was tidy too.

Scored a gross 86 on a par 71

There was still room for improvement as this round had a 3 of the tee, and a couple of duffed chip shots and one 3 putt.

Here's the best bit...

I WON, I BEAT MY MATE, THE PRO.

He actually shot a gross 87, He hasnt played for 3 months and was suffering with a stiff back, i felt sorry for him because he normally always goes round under par and he just didnt turn up yesterday but he was just glad to be back out.

So, next target, to break 80, who would of thought it after only playing six months and a major swing change 2 months ago.

Here's to a good summer! i Hope.

However low you go, it could always be better. Enjoy the good times while they last.

You need to take the good with the bad. In thinking about the one three putt costing you a shot, you ignore chipping in somewhere else which saved you one you should have dropped (as an example). I guess 86 was as good as it could be on the day.

Sub 80 will come, but so will a huge cut in handicap. They won't give you 20 next time out.

I intend to. the thing i am hoping to take away from here is consistency.

I am chuffed because now i know my lessons have paid off!
